100 Blog Post Challenge is over. What was Learned?
Well, for the last month or so, I’ve been going to 100 other people’s online blogs to make comments for a contest called the Jacinta Dean 100 Blog Post Comment Challenge. Wow was it a learning experience for me. I got to see so many cool and interesting sites and meet some nice people in the process. The posts were all filled with great information, mostly about online marketing and business building. There were some other blogs on different subjects that were just as interesting.

BoilerMaker 15K Road race. July 11, 2010
Hi,
I’m from Utica, New York, home of the Boilermaker 15k road race that happens every year in July for the last 33 years. People from all over the country and the world, come and run as well as thousands of local runners. The race keeps getting bigger and bigger every year and it’s a favorite event amoung the residents of Utica. A record number of runners signed up for the Boilermaker, exceeding 13,000, with over 11,500 finishing the 15K race. At the end of the race it was Lelisa Desisa, 20 of Ethiopia, who emerged victorious, with a field best of 42:46, breaking the mens record of 42:54 set by Joseph Kimani in 1997. Way to go girl!
There are many volunteers that help and people line the streets cheering the runners on and encouraging the stragglers. Some of the volunteers have been doing it since day one. The event really brings the community together and is a great financial boost for the shop owners, restaurants, hotels and other businesses.
Professional runners from Kenya that go around the country racing for prize money usually win. I think it’s somewhere around $10,000 for winning the race.
If you’re a runner, this should be one of your goals to run in the Boilermaker Roadrace in Utica, New York.

Internet Business in 2010 – The Game is Changing
In the early days of the internet when direct marketers and traditional mail order companies started experimenting with this powerful new medium, things were different. Sellers used the hard sell approach. Customers and prospects responded because that’s what they were programed in their mind to expect.
There was really no relationship between the seller and the prospect. It was all about, this is what I have for sale, buy it. If you do that’s fine. If you do great.
If you have been on the internet for any length of time you may have noticed that it’s totally about relationships now. There’s Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, Squidoo, Hubpages. Just about anyone on the internet has a blog these days and keeps us informed of what’s going on in their world. It’s exciting.
So as trends change, as the way people interact with one another changes, so we, as internet marketers have to evolve and change and market to our people as they want. We are not in the selling business in this internet marketing, make money online thing. We are, or should be, in the people business. We have to be caring and loving and kind and really want to help people with their problems, needs and wants. Taking an interest in who they are. In order to serve your market better and to show respect to them, you have to know who they are. Where do they hang out? Are they men or women? What education level are they? Are they married? Have children?
The more you show an interest in them and their wants and needs the more they will respond to your marketing efforts. Yup, it’s 2010 and I’m so happy to be in the people business. Aren’t you?

Anybody like paintball or airsoft?
Is Airsoft Better Than Paintball?
Airsoft fans and paintballers are devoted fans of their sports. Is one really better than the other?
This question is bound to stir debate and controversy amongst the most ardent of airsoft or paintball fans.
Both airsoft and paintball are both hobbies based on replica firearms and wargames. Is this unhealthy? That depends moreso on the person themselves rather than the hobby. An interest in pursuing a hobby that involves weaponry only becomes unhealthy if taken to extremes – which is true of most things in life. Paintball and airsoft are not morbid hobbies and only run the risk of being dangerous when participated in by dangerous people.
